Football Game Preview: South Garner Titans vs. Clayton Comets + Official Tickets

South Garner is 0-4 against Clayton since October of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Titans will take on the Comets at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, South Garner lost to Cleveland at home by a 42-28 margin. Despite 93 more yards than the Rams, the Titans couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Randolph Ross, who picked up 202 receiving yards and three scores. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 104.7 receiving yards per game. Devin Shoulars was another key passer, throwing for 254 yards and three TDs while completing 73.7% of his passes.

Meanwhile, Clayton didn't have quite enough to beat Southeast Raleigh on Friday and fell 22-19. While the Comets had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Bulldogs 6-0.

South Garner's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Clayton, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-2.

South Garner took a serious blow against Clayton in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 40-6. Can the Titans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
