Basketball Game Preview: Loudoun County Captains vs. Broad Run Spartans

The Loudoun County Captains will head out on the road to square off against the Broad Run Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Loudoun County earned a 57-50 victory over John Champe. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Captains.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Broad Run had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They blew past the Knights 78-58. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.

Loudoun County pushed their record up to 12-10 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points over those games. As for Broad Run, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-5.

Loudoun County took a serious blow against Broad Run in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 69-41. Can Loudoun County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
