It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but North Lenoir had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the South Granville Vikings by a score of 5-1. This was payback for the Hawks, who suffered a 4-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Carter Chadwick was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one double. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.

Chadwick wasn't the only one making solid contact: North Lenoir kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Granville only managed five hits.

North Lenoir's win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for South Granville, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.

Looking ahead, North Lenoir will head out on the road to challenge East Carteret at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mariners will roll in looking for their 26th straight victory, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight. South Granville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
