Recap: Jefferson Independent Day Cavaliers vs. Diamond Wildcats
This season hasn't been kind to the Jefferson Independent Day Cavaliers, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 45-26 to Diamond. Jefferson Independent Day lost against Diamond in their previous head to head back in December of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 47-44 score last time.
Jefferson Independent Day's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kohl Thurman, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Simon Studer who scored 5 points. The match was Thurman's fifth in a row with at least ten points.
Jefferson Independent Day has fallen quite a ways from their 21-7 record last season and are now at 0-5. As for Diamond, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Jefferson Independent Day will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Everton at 7:00 p.m. Everton is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Diamond, they will head out on the road to face off against Bronaugh at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Bronaugh focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Saturday.
