Baseball Game Preview: Purchase Line Red Dragons vs. Marion Center Stingers

Purchase Line hasn't had much luck against Marion Center recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Red Dragons will square off against the Stingers at 5:30 p.m. Purchase Line has given up an average of 9.4 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Purchase Line came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 13-7 to United.

Christian Moyer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Purchase Line: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-10 otherwise. Wyatt Sheredy was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Marion Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Homer-Center.

Troy Slovinsky made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Trey Slovinsky, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Purchase Line's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Marion Center, their loss dropped their record down to 2-15.

Purchase Line beat Marion Center 10-7 when the teams last played last Thursday. Do the Red Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Stingers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
