Football Recap: Make It Seven in a Row for Williamson

Williamson put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the UMS-Wright Prep Bulldogs 40-10. Those 40 points were actually the fewest the Lions have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Williamson had a senior duo take command as Todrick Withers rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns and Alvin Dinkins threw for 153 yards and three TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes. Withers' rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 101 rushing yards.

Williamson didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited UMS-Wright Prep to a completion percentage of just 45.2%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Ellis McGaskin, Jaylen Scott, and Josten Banks, who each logged one passes deflected. The last time Williamson's completion percentage was this high was back in October of 2024.

Williamson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Reginald Ward, Jermaine McCree, and Captain Munnerlyn picked up one apiece. Williamson received some extra help from Ward, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Williamson's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for UMS-Wright Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Williamson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 22-14 victory against Vigor on the 17th. As for UMS-Wright Prep, they have also already played their next matchup, a 34-6 win against Elberta on the 17th.
