Basketball Recap: Dodge County Piles Up the Points Against Jefferson County

Dodge County posted their biggest win since January 7th on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Jefferson County Warriors 66-24. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Warriors are ranked 466th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jefferson County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jaelissia Reeves, who posted four points in addition to 11 boards and three steals. Reeves is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sha'Niah Pitts, who put up four points along with seven steals and five boards.

Dodge County has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Jefferson County, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dodge County will square off against Dublin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jefferson County, they will challenge Washington County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
