The Austintown-Fitch Falcons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Garfield 61-16 on the road. That looming 61-16 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Austintown-Fitch yet this season.

Austintown-Fitch was led to victory by Kaliana Ray and Destanie Mccullough. Ray scored 15 points along with four steals, while Mccullough scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachel Spalding, who scored nine points.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Garfield struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Austintown-Fitch's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Garfield, they have fallen quite a ways from their 23-3 record last season and are now at 1-6.

Austintown-Fitch won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Green at 5:30 p.m. on December 29, 2023. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Green is ranked 164th, while Austintown-Fitch is ranked 141st). Garfield will finish 2023 at home by hosting Struthers at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Struthers is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
