Baseball Recap: Northwest Cabarrus Comes Up Short

Northwest Cabarrus fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against South Rowan on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 9-8. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Raiders this season, with their most recent defeat being a 10-2 loss back in March.

Ben Able was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Northwest Cabarrus is 3-1 when Able posts two or more runs, but 1-12 otherwise.

Northwest Cabarrus has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for South Rowan, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-6.
