Baseball Recap: Cox Mill Takes a Loss

Cox Mill managed to slip by Hickory Ridge the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Chargers lost 11-1 to the Ragin' Bulls on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Chargers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Cox Mill saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Cartee, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Cox Mill has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Hickory Ridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Cox Mill and Hickory Ridge could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Chargers (ranked 130th) will meet Providence (ranked sixth) at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Hickory Ridge will square off against East Rowan at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (94 vs. 27).
