Soccer Game Preview: Foothill vs. Valley

Foothill is 0-5 against Valley since January of 2023 but things could change on Thursday. The Foothill Mustangs will head out to face off against the Valley Vikings at 6:30 p.m.

Foothill managed to keep up with Fairfield until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Foothill came up short against Fairfield, falling 4-0. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by exactly four goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Valley). Their defense stepped up to hand Florin an 8-0 shutout on Tuesday. The score was close at the half, but the Vikings pulled away in the second half with seven goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Foothill and nudges their season record down to 0-11-1. As for Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.

Foothill might still be hurting after the 5-0 loss they got from Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can Foothill avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
