Recap: Roaring Fork Rams vs. Gunnison Cowboys

The Roaring Fork Rams proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 48) but on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Gunnison and snuck past 50-48. The win made it back-to-back wins for Roaring Fork.

Roaring Fork's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucas Carballeira, who scored 15 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiko Pena, who scored eight points along with 14 rebounds and three steals.

Roaring Fork's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Gunnison, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Roaring Fork has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Grand Valley at 7:00 p.m. on February 16th. Gunnison will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Crested Butte at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th. Crested Butte knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Gunnison likes a good challenge.
