Volleyball Game Preview: John Carroll Catholic Rams vs. Gateway Panthers + How To Watch

After both having extra time off, the John Carroll Catholic Rams and the Gateway Panthers will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

John Carroll Catholic heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Thursday. They fell just short of Legacy by a score of 3-2. While the Rams didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lions 25-18 in the first set.

John Carroll Catholic wouldn't go down easily and took Legacy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-18, 20-25, 25-20, 15-11.

The losing side was boosted by Meghan Childs, who had seven digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played. Liv Laughlin also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Meanwhile, Gateway came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with six straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Highlanders.

While Gateway might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Lake Wales scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 23-25, 25-19, 25-20.

Gateway's win bumped their record up to 18-5. As for John Carroll Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 14-3.
