The Temecula Prep Patriots will head out to face off against the Santa Rosa Academy Rangers at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Temecula Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

Temecula Prep is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against San Jacinto Valley Academy on Friday. They fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 1-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Patriots were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Santa Rosa Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of San Jacinto Valley Academy.

Santa Rosa Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate Bock, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Jackson Morace, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Temecula Prep's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6. As for Santa Rosa Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Temecula Prep has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Santa Rosa Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Everything went Temecula Prep's way against Santa Rosa Academy in their previous matchup last Wednesday, as Temecula Prep made off with a 16-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
