Recap: Keystone Wildcats vs. Wellington Dukes
The Keystone Wildcats put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They pulled ahead with a 31-30 photo finish over Wellington. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Keystone has scored all year.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Keystone to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jessica Forthofer, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and three blocks. Forthofer is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Vivian Cassell, who scored four points along with 13 rebounds.
Keystone's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0. As for Wellington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Keystone will face off against Brookside at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Brookside will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 704th, while Keystone is ranked 91st). As for Wellington, they will head out on the road to challenge Oberlin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Oberlin has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 29.
