Basketball Recap: Richland Takes a Loss

Richland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 65-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Independence Knights.

Independence got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kylan Wade out in front who went 9-for-22 on his way to 21 points and five boards. The contest was Wade's third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Wade, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

Richland now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Independence, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Coming up, Richland will challenge Krum at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders will be up against the Bobcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 61.75 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Independence, they will square off against Flower Mound at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
