Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Rocky Mountain Lutheran

Rocky Mountain Lutheran got themselves on the board against Platte Canyon on Saturday, but Platte Canyon never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 15-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on four straight.

Blake Harris made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Noah Lile and Gavin Borchardt did most of the damage at the plate: Lile went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three RBI, while Borchardt scored two runs while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances. Those two hits gave Lile a new career-high. Abel Alverado was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Rocky Mountain Lutheran's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Rocky Mountain Lutheran wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 12-2 loss against Bishop Machebeuf on the 25th. After both having extra time off, Platte Canyon and Fort Lupton will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 3:30 p.m. on the 26th. This will be Platte Canyon's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
