Volleyball Recap: Clayton Valley Charter Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Concord on Tuesday, Clayton Valley Charter came back down to earth. The Ugly Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Miramonte Matadors on Thursday. The Ugly Eagles have struggled against the Matadors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Clayton Valley Charter started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-13.

Ava Salamasidis paced Clayton Valley Charter's offense, picking up ten kills. Salamasidis got some help from Ella Friedman and her 13 assists. Izabela Markiel controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Clayton Valley Charter's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Miramonte, they pushed their record up to 18-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

As of now, neither Clayton Valley Charter nor the Matadors have any future games scheduled.
