Basketball Game Preview: Boiling Springs Bubblers vs. Big Spring Bulldogs

Boiling Springs and Big Spring are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Boiling Springs Bubblers are taking a road trip to challenge the Big Spring Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Boiling Springs knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Big Spring likes a good challenge.

Boiling Springs picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They took down Greencastle-Antrim 57-41. Given the Bubblers' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 486th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brandon Ascione continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 21 points. Mason LaBuda was another key player, posting 11 points.

Meanwhile, Big Spring was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. 2025 welcomed they with a 71-49 loss courtesy of Bishop McDevitt.

Boiling Springs' victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Big Spring, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Boiling Springs beat Big Spring 62-52 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Boiling Springs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
