Softball Recap: Benicia Wins Going Away Against Buhach Colony

Benicia's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Buhach Colony Thunder with a sharp 16-1 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Arielle Der made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Der was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Emma French was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ava Rojas, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

The victory got Benicia back to even at 1-1. As for Buhach Colony, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Benicia will be taking part in a tournament against Lincoln at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Buhach Colony, they will take on Downey in a tournament on Saturday.
