Volleyball Recap: Bluefield Beavers vs. Shady Spring Tigers
Bluefield came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Shady Spring Tigers, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Beavers have suffered since September 11th.
The final score came out to 25-8, 25-9, 25-5.
Charity Powell paced Bluefield's offense, picking up three kills. Powell got some help from Faye Jackson and her three assists. Finally, Hayden Patterson kept Bluefield's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.
Bluefield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13-1. As for Shady Spring, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-7-1 record this season.
