Soccer Game Preview: Pleasant Grove vs. Salem Hills

The Pleasant Grove Vikings will venture away from home to take on the Salem Hills Skyhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pleasant Grove's last five matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Things were looking good for Pleasant Grove after they put the first goal on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Spanish Fork by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that Pleasant Grove have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Salem Hills managed to keep up with Springville until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Skyhawks lost 5-1 to the Red Devils. Salem Hills have struggled against Springville recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Salem Hills' loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Pleasant Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

Pleasant Grove was able to grind out a solid victory over Salem Hills when the teams last played back in August, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
