Softball Recap: Weed Comes Up Short

Weed was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Trinity Wolves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-2 back in March.

Paige Jauregui made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Weed's loss dropped their record down to 2-18-1. As for Trinity, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Wolves beat Weed by a score of 19-4 later that day.
