Basketball Recap: Colonial Christian Takes a Loss

Colonial Christian and Schoolhouse Prep squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Colonial Christian had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Schoolhouse Prep Wolfpack and fell 106-25. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 834th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 409th).

Hector Samaniego continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Schoolhouse Prep, dropping a double-double on 41 points and 15 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Samaniego a new career-high in assists (five). Marc Garcia was another key player, putting up six points and 21 assists.

Colonial Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Schoolhouse Prep, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.

Colonial Christian is taking a road trip to face off against First Baptist Academy at 4:00 p.m. on February 11th. Colonial Christian is facing First Baptist Academy at the right time seeing as First Baptist Academy is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Schoolhouse Prep, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Miami Christian on Wednesday. Schoolhouse Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.1 points per game this season.
