Recap: Prairiland Patriots vs. Chisum Mustangs
The Prairiland Patriots lost against the Chisum Mustangs back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Prairiland suffered a tough 53-31 defeat at the hands of Chisum. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Prairiland in their matchups with Chisum: they've now lost five in a row.
Leading Chisum to victory were Addison Bradberry and Emma Garner. Bradberry scored 17 points along with seven rebounds, while Garner dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Garner has scored at least 25% of Chisum's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Hutchison, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Prairiland has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season. As for Chisum, their victory bumped their record up to 12-13.
Prairiland will head out on the road to face off against Grand Saline at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Grand Saline is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Chisum, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lone Oak at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lone Oak is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
