Softball Recap: Mount Everett Regional Comes Up Short

Mount Everett Regional was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 17-16 heartbreaker at the hands of the Westfield Technical Academy Tigers.

Emily Gilmore and Hailey Warren stepped up to the plate in a big way. Gilmore went 3-for-6 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Warren went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ariana Sermini, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Mount Everett Regional's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Westfield Technical Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6-1.

Looking ahead, Mount Everett Regional will take on Amherst-Pelham Regional at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Hurricanes have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 21.41 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. Westfield Technical Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
