Volleyball Recap: Eagle Valley Beats Steamboat Springs for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Eagle Valley entered their tilt with Steamboat Springs on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Sailors. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 on September 4th.

While Eagle Valley won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-18, 25-21.

Riley Weatherred paced Eagle Valley's offense, picking up 23 kills. Weatherred got some help from Ansley Hopper and her 29 assists. Weatherred was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Sammy Coleman and Macee Wettlaufer certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Coleman had ten digs, while Wettlaufer had ten digs and one assist. Wettlaufer has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times she's played.

Eagle Valley now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Steamboat Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Eagle Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Battle Mountain on the 2nd. As for Steamboat Springs, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Summit at 6:30 p.m.
