Basketball Recap: Lake George Takes a Loss

Lake George suffered their biggest defeat since February 7, 2024 on Saturday. They came up short against the Moriah Vikings, falling 55-33. While losing is never fun, the Lakers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 300th, while the Vikings are ranked 88th).

Despite the loss, Lake George saw an underclassman step up: freshman Madyson Brennan posted 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks. That was a full 45.5% of Lake George's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Lake George has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Moriah, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
