Softball Recap: Gwynn Park Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Gwynn Park was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They lost 15-2 to the Frederick Douglass Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-2 on Monday.

This is the second loss in a row for Gwynn Park and nudges their season record down to 9-13. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 12-4 Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 64.8% over those games). As for Frederick Douglass, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.

Gwynn Park wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 11-10 defeat against Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North on the 2nd. Frederick Douglass has also already played their next matchup (against International High School at Largo), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
