Benton is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Sugar Valley Rural an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Benton Tigers will be playing at home against the Sugar Valley Rural Phoenix at 4:30 p.m. Benton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Benton is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since May 9, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Muncy, falling 15-6.

Benton saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Farwell, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Paxton Hart was another, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Sugar Valley Rural beat Williamson 7-3 on Monday.

Lincoln Breon and Dakota Jodun did most of the damage at the plate: Breon went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs, while Jodun went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Jodun a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryer Martin, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Sugar Valley Rural's win bumped their record up to 2-5-1. As for Benton, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Everything went Benton's way against Sugar Valley Rural in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Benton made off with an 11-1 victory. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Phoenix have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
