Basketball Game Preview: Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons vs. Loomis Wolves

Wilcox-Hildreth is 1-9 against Loomis since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons will host the Loomis Wolves at 7:45 p.m.

Wilcox-Hildreth is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were dealt a 65-32 loss at the hands of Elm Creek. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while the Buffaloes are ranked 68th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Loomis). They took their game on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 79-35 victory over Arapahoe. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 20 points or more this season.

Wilcox-Hildreth's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Loomis, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6.

Wilcox-Hildreth was dealt a bruising 63-35 loss at the hands of Loomis in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Wilcox-Hildreth was down 41-14.
