Mt. Zion lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Mattoon, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's game. The Braves put the hurt on the Greenwave with a sharp 12-4 win on Saturday. Considering the Braves have won nine matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Mt. Zion pushed their record up to 12-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Mattoon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mt. Zion beat Mattoon by a score of 8-0 later that day.
