Volleyball Recap: Richfield's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Richfield can bid farewell to their six-match losing streak thanks to their match on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Como Park Cougars. The Spartans not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 15th (when they won 3-0).

While Richfield won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-18, 25-22.

Taylor Nickell paced Richfield's offense, picking up nine kills. Nickell got some help from Julia Wolke and her 25 assists. Olivia Berger controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Richfield's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Como Park, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Richfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Park Center on the 11th. As for Como Park, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against West Lutheran on the 11th.
