Baseball Game Preview: Milwaukee School of Languages Hawks vs. St. Francis Mariners

The Milwaukee School of Languages Hawks are taking a road trip to challenge the St. Francis Mariners at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Milwaukee School of Languages has four straight victories, St. Francis has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Milwaukee School of Languages took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Milwaukee Riverside, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hawks had just enough and edged out the Tigers 5-4 on Tuesday.

Brewer Larkee was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits. Larkee was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

Lake Country Lutheran hit St. Francis with a four-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mariners came up short against the Lightning, falling 9-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Mariners were not able to get on the board.

St. Francis' defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Milwaukee School of Languages, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.
