Recap: Chicago University Maroons vs. Elgin Academy Hilltoppers
This season hasn't been kind to the Chicago University Maroons, who are still winless after their seventh match. They fell just short of Elgin Academy by a score of 49-47. That's two games in a row now that Chicago University has lost by exactly two points.
Elgin Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rahul Gowda, who scored 8 points along with 7 assists and 7 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Tacher, who scored 14 points.
Chicago University's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Elgin Academy, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chicago University will face off against Chicago Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Elgin Academy will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Christian Life at 7:30 p.m. on December 7th. Christian Life is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
