Baseball Recap: Millburn Finds Home Field Redemption Against Newark Academy

There's no place like home for Millburn, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Newark Academy Minutemen on Friday as they made off with a 12-4 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Millers considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Leo Dalton tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Greg Rosenthal, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peter Lawrence, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Millburn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Millburn's record now sits at 7-8. As for Newark Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.
