Basketball Game Preview: Malibu Sharks vs. The School of Los Angeles Coyote

The Malibu Sharks and The School of Los Angeles Coyote will face off at 5:50 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

On Tuesday, Malibu was beaten by Nordhoff 96-49. The defeat continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Rangers: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite the loss, Malibu got top-tier performance from Dylan Goosen, who went 12 for 26 en route to 30 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. The match was Goosen's 31st in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Cupp, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, The School of Los Angeles was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Stern and fell 50-17. While losing is never fun, the Coyote can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1322nd, while the Titans are ranked 636th).

Malibu's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for The School of Los Angeles, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
