Basketball Game Preview: Space Coast Vipers vs. Cocoa Beach Minutemen

Space Coast and Cocoa Beach are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2019, but not for long. The Space Coast Vipers will head out to take on the Cocoa Beach Minutemen at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Space Coast is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Space Coast is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Titusville on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Space Coast was beaten by Titusville 62-17. The Vipers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-7.

Meanwhile, Cocoa Beach might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy an easy 68-43 victory. The Minutemen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Space Coast will have to contain Max Louis as he made an impact in Cocoa Beach's last game. He posted 11 points and six rebounds. Jayesiah Carr was another key player, going 5 of 11 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds.

Space Coast's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Cocoa Beach, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Space Coast was taken down by Cocoa Beach 57-22 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Cocoa Beach's Lukas Stevens, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 15 points and three steals.
