Baseball Recap: Lemoore Takes a Loss

After flying high against Dinuba last Wednesday, Lemoore came back down to earth. The Tigers fell just short of the Emperors by a score of 4-3 on Friday. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Emperors earlier this season, when they won 17-1.

Ben Johnson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Lemoore dropped their record down to 8-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Dinuba, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-11.

Looking ahead, Lemoore will challenge McLane at 3:10 p.m. on Saturday. As for Dinuba, they will square off against Central Valley Christian at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
