Basketball Recap: San Benito Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

San Benito lost to Edinburg back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The San Benito Greyhounds came out on top against the Edinburg Bobcats by a score of 54-45. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Greyhounds.

Edinburg's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makayla Olvera, who posted six points in addition to ten rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Khloe Trevino, who had 15 points.

San Benito is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. As for Edinburg, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-12.

San Benito will head out to face off against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Edinburg, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Edinburg Bobcats challenge the Harlingen Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Harlingen will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Edinburg surely won't give up without a fight.
