Basketball Recap: West Boca Raton Takes a Loss

West Boca Raton lost against Spanish River back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The West Boca Raton Bulls came up short against the Spanish River Sharks, falling 68-45. The Bulls were down 57-32 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the defeat, West Boca Raton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sophia Krefsky went 8 for 17 on her way to 25 points and four steals. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for Krefsky. Brianna Morgan was another key player, putting up ten points and six boards.

Ellie Neuman was a one-woman wrecking crew for Spanish River as she dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Neuman a new career-high in assists (eight). Another player making a difference was Emma Feinstein, who posted 12 points.

West Boca Raton's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Spanish River, their record now sits at 4-13.

West Boca Raton is taking a road trip to challenge Boca Raton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Spanish River, they will welcome Pine Crest at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Pine Crest's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
