Volleyball Game Preview: Chavez Titans vs. Kennedy Thunderbirds

The Chavez Titans will head out on the road to challenge the Kennedy Thunderbirds at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Chavez will be strutting in after a victory while Kennedy will be coming in after a loss.

Last Thursday, Chavez beat Taft 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Titans.

Chavez had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-20, 25-10, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Kennedy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against Shafter, falling 3-0.

Chavez's win bumped their record up to 17-8. As for Kennedy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-14-2.

Chavez came out on top in a nail-biter against Kennedy when the teams last played back in October of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
