Baseball Recap: Tolleson Find Success

Tolleson got themselves on the board against Timnath on Monday, but Timnath never followed suit. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Timnath Cubs.

OSCAR MOLINA and ANTHONY RAMIREZ were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, MOLINA struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, RAMIREZ tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tolleson is 3-0-1 when RAMIREZ allowsone or fewer hits, but 2-6 otherwise. At bat, MOLINA scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while RAMIREZ scored a run while going 1-for-3. MOLINA also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.

In other pitching news, DIEGO SERNA looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent over his last four games.

Back at the plate, Tolleson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was ADRIAN NUNEZ, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Tolleson hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Timnath struck out 11 times.

Tolleson's win bumped their record up to 5-6-1. As for Timnath, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Coming up, Tolleson will face off against Dobson at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Timnath, they will take on Holland Hall in a tournament on Tuesday. Timnath is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
