Mountain Heritage has been on a difficult stretch since their win on the third. They fell just short of the Avery County Vikings by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Mountain Heritage's goal came courtesy of Kai'ana Stella, who's now up to six this season.

Mountain Heritage's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 0-1-2 and their overall record down to 1-3-2. As for Avery County, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3.

Looking ahead, Mountain Heritage will welcome Mitchell at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Mountain Heritage will be up against Mitchell's rather soft defense (which has allowed 7.2 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Avery County, they will head out on the road to challenge Madison at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
