Softball Game Preview: Bartram Trail Bears vs. Tocoi Creek Toros

The Bartram Trail Bears will square off against the Tocoi Creek Toros at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bartram Trail is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Last Friday, Bartram Trail earned a 6-1 win over Buchholz. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Rommeney Patrey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Andi Gooch was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Hailey Allen was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Tocoi Creek entered their tilt with Menendez on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 11-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Toros, who have now won five matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Tocoi Creek also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Hannah Jones gave up three earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Kaycee Huff was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Skye Fourman, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Tocoi Creek's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Bartram Trail, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
