Laton extends home losing streak to three

Recap: Laton Mustangs vs. Kings Christian Crusaders

The Laton Mustangs suffered their biggest defeat since December 4, 2023 on Tuesday. They were outmatched by Kings Christian at home and fell 60-26. Laton was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-12.

Despite the loss, Laton still got an impressive performance from Johnathan Garcia, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Garcia is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played.

Ronnie Roche was his usual excellent self, scoring 32 points for Kings Christian. That makes it six consecutive games in which Roche has scored at least a third of Kings Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Brouwer, who scored seven points along with 15 rebounds and three blocks.

Laton dropped their record down to 5-14 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Kings Christian, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-2.

Laton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Wonderful College Prep Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. Kings Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Woodlake at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
