Basketball Game Preview: Medina Christian Academy Knights vs. Keystone Wildcats

The Medina Christian Academy Knights and the Keystone Wildcats will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.

On Friday, Medina Christian Academy ended up a good deal behind Lake Center Christian and lost 62-47. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 681st, while the Tiger are ranked 294th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Keystone). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 96-47 victory over Black River. The Wildcats' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Medina Christian Academy better focus on containing Colt Cowling and Liam Goran as the pair were huge in Keystone's win. Cowling went 10 of 16 on his way to 25 points along with five boards and four steals, while Goran went 8 for 12 en route to 21 points in addition to six assists and four steals. The game was Goran's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Zach Shackelfod, who went 5 for 6 on his way to 13 points.

Medina Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Keystone, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.
