The Angleton Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Pasadena Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Angleton has four straight wins, Pasadena has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Angleton gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They really took it to Porter for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-10 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wildcats' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Spartans are ranked 417th).
Angleton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bryce Duron, who threw for 152 yards and one touchdown on only 13 passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground. 104 of Duron's passing yards were hauled in by Wesley Jackson, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Angleton proved: they limited Porter to a paltry 1.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Wallace Thornley for the heroic effort on defense: he. Angleton didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.4.

Angleton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Landon Miles and Kasen Jammer. Miles also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with six. Kawarren Scott was another major factor on D, picking up four sacks and making six total tackles (5.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-6, which was the final score in Pasadena's tilt against Crosby on Friday.
Angleton's record now sits at 4-0. As for Pasadena, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Everything came up roses for Angleton against Pasadena in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured an 80-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
