Softball Recap: Meadowbrook Takes a Loss

Meadowbrook has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.38 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They lost 11-1 to the Sheridan Generals. The match marked the Colts' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meadowbrook saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sommer Ginn, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meadowbrook's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-6. As for Sheridan, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 20-4.

Meadowbrook and Sheridan should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Colts (ranked 113th) will meet Maysville (ranked 520th) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Sheridan will challenge Athens at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (33 vs. 99). The Generals are on a 14-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Bulldogs a five-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
