Basketball Recap: Twin Lakes Falls Short of Peru in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Twin Lakes can now relate to. They fell just short of the Peru Tigers by a score of 50-48 on Tuesday. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2021.

When it comes to explaining why Twin Lakes lost, don't look at Bryce Wilhite. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-12 to rack up 22 points. The dominant performance gave Wilhite a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Kyser, who posted six points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Peru's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zion See led the charge by shooting 60% from the field en route to 16 points and three steals. See has become a key player for Peru: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 8-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Gavin Eldridge, who scored 16 points along with six boards and five assists.

Twin Lakes' loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Peru, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-12.

Twin Lakes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Peru, they will take on Logansport at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Peru will be up against Logansport's rather soft defense (which has allowed 63.22 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
